The Knights of Mecca is an organization that is open to any Past Master of a Blue Lodge who is in good standing of any Temple of the A.A.O.N.M.S. and who resides in the jurisdiction of Kena Temple.

The purpose of the Knights of Mecca is to build a closer relationship with all Masonic bodies, especially the Blue Lodges, and to emphasize that there is an intimate connection between Shrinedom and Masonry. The club provides liaison and assistance among Masonic organizations, and it assists in Kena functions, such as the Blue Lodge Night.

The Knights of Mecca meet quarterly, whenever there is a fifth Wednesday in the month. Meetings usually consist of a dinner with the wives, entertainment, and a business meeting.

The Knights of Mecca was formally organized at Kena Temple in 1973 with 38 charter members. However the club began informally in the 1960s under the leadership of Noble Fred Bridgeman. After a review of how the Knights of Mecca operated in other Temples, particularly Yaarab Temple and Boumi Temple, Kena Knights of Mecca adopted bylaws in 1973 and elected Elias van Krugel as President; George Weaver as First Vice President; Virginius R. Gill as Second Vice President; John L. Sullivan as Treasurer; and Bruce W. McNamee as Secretary.

Eligible Past masters join us in this important work.
